Christmas program begins soon.
AFL-CIO Community Services’ annual Adopt-A-Family Christmas Program begins Nov. 3. The organization will take applications from those needing help for Christmas through Dec. 5.
Applications will be taken 1 to 4 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fridays. They also will be taken by appointment only from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursdays and 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays, Nov. 15 and Dec. 6. Call 364-1131 for more information.
For any Spanish-speaking individuals, applications will be taken by appointment only by calling 273-6665.
Those unable to apply in person should call Community Services at 364-1131 no later than Dec. 1 to make other arrangements.
Applicants should not bring children when applying.
They should bring the following:
Social Security cards for each member of the household.
Proof of all income — TANF, child support, SSI, Social Security, pensions and/or earned wages, etc.
Utility bills.
All other expenses — food, credit cards, prescriptions, etc.
Rent or mortgage receipt showing name and address and landlord/mortgage company name and phone number.
Clothing and shoe sizes for every member of household.
List of special foods, clothing or household needs.
A wish list for Santa from each child (three items maximum).
$2 processing fee.
